Prompted by growing mountains of rubbish, the German parliament has revised the Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act. Residual waste may now no longer be dumped untreated on landfills.
For this reason residual waste is increasingly being passed on for thermal recycling.
In thermal recycling energy is recovered through incineration, leaving behind slag as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals as residues.
IS JADE STAHL processes the ferrous and non-ferrous components in the residues. Iron, non-ferrous metal and residual waste are separated from each other over several separation stages. The metals recovered are then used in smelting works as secondary raw material.
